WHAT DO I NEED TO ATTEND?

Please find below the attendance requirements of your course:

Course

Certificate in Personal Training
Diploma in Personal Training
Advanced Diploma in Personal Training

Specifics

Depending on the course you choose, if you’ve chosen Distance Study you’ll need to book onto and attend a number of assessment days during which you’ll hand in your portfolios, sit your theory assessments and perform your practical assessments*. You need to bring a client with you for the practical assessments, unless you arrange with us beforehand to submit a video for the practical assessments (for which you’ll also need a client). Conditions and additional fees apply to the video option, so please call the Learner Support team for more information. See the Distance Study Assessments tab below for assessment dates to choose from.

  • Certificate = 3 Saturdays
  • Diploma and Advanced Diploma = the T3 workshop + 4 Saturdays + either 3 days or 3 video assessments

Depending on the course you choose, if you've chosen to study part time you’ll need to attend the scheduled course days. These are normally consecutive Saturdays or Sundays, but please check with us first to make sure. You’ll perform the relevant assessments on these days and also hand in your portfolios*. See the Part Time Saturday, Part Time Sunday or Part Time Evening tabs for course dates to choose from.

  • Certificate = 12 Saturdays or 12 Sundays
  • Diploma and Advanced Diploma = the T3 workshop + either 18 Saturdays or 18 Sundays

Also dependant on your chosen course, if you’ve chosen to study full time you’ll need to attend the scheduled course days Monday to Friday for either four or five weeks.

You’ll perform the relevant assessments during this period and also hand in your portfolios*. See the Full Time tab for course dates to choose from.

  • Certificate = 4 weeks’ Full Time
  • Diploma and Advanced Diploma = 5 weeks’ Full Time + the T3 workshop + 1 possible Saturday

*The Level 3 Award in Business and Marketing is a mandatory unit of the Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training qualification. You will need to complete it successfully in your own time and not during the period of attendance before you can request the Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training qualification certificate.

The Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses also contain additional qualifications which are included in the price, but which are not mandatory units, therefore you don’t have to complete them in order to request your Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training certificate. So, for example, whilst the cost of the Level 4 Obesity and Diabetes Management course and the Level 5 Life Coaching course are included in the cost of the Advanced Diploma course, you’ll complete them in your own time and not during the period of attendance.

The T3 workshop is a two-day workshop. Again, although it’s included in the cost of the Diploma and Advanced Diploma course options, you need to book onto it separately after you’ve successfully completed the Level 2 component of your course.
