Overview

While suspension fitness is a relatively new training method, its underlying principles are incredibly well founded. Suspension training uses particular apparatus such as the TRX or Human Trainer and engages the core while manipulating your bodyweight to create challenging and variable exercises. Using suspension training techniques can help add variety to your clients’ sessions in the gym, but it can also be used outside of the gym environment for exercise outdoors or at home.

This course includes online study and one suspension fitness training day which you can either attend in-person at one of our venues or from the comfort of your own home with our Virtual Training Platform.

This course is recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status.

Is the Suspension Fitness course recognised?

Yes, by REPs. This course also meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status.

What do I need to attend?

The Suspension Fitness course is delivered part time. You’ll complete as home study the online course material and once completed you’ll book onto and attend a Suspension Fitness assessment day on which you’ll enjoy practical tuition, hand in your portfolio and perform your practical assessment.

What are the prerequisites?

A basic level of English and Maths is necessary to understand the content.

You’ll hold either a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym-based Exercise), or a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training.

The Suspension Fitness course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. Relevant personal experience of suspension training e.g. TRX, is helpful.

What support is available during the Suspension Training course?

Learner Support – As well as the support you receive from your tutor during the Suspension Fitness assessment day, you’ll also have access to our Learner Support team, on hand to assist you with study questions and queries. The team is generally available via phone, email or through the Help Desk Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm, excluding bank holidays and office closures.
