While suspension fitness is a relatively new training method, its underlying principles are incredibly well founded.

Suspension training uses particular apparatus such as the TRX or Human Trainer to provide a whole body workout by using gravity as resistance as you perform various exercises. Repositioning your body or even parts of your body can increase or decrease the level of intensity, and provides a wide array of exercise possibilities. Suspension training can help add variety to your clients’ sessions in the gym, and can also be used for exercise outdoors or at home.

Choose from two outstanding study options – Virtual or In-Person – both of which include Learner Support.


Home study plus a practical, tutor-led Suspension Fitness Virtual clinic that you participate in at home with your own suspension fitness equipment or in your health club using theirs. This one-day clinic is conducted in real-time and is not a pre-recorded video.

You will:

  • Book onto a scheduled Suspension Fitness Virtual clinic. View dates.

  • Complete as home study the online course material and portfolio before you participate in the Suspension Fitness Virtual clinic.

  • Participate in the Suspension Fitness Virtual clinic you’ve booked onto which will include practical tuition and the practical assessment. You will need your own suspension equipment for this.

  • Submit your completed portfolio via our Help Desk.

Home study plus a practical, tutor-led Group Suspension Fitness In-Person clinic (one day) that you attend at our London centre.

You will:

  • Book onto a scheduled Suspension Fitness In-Person clinic. View dates.

  • Complete the online course material and portfolio as home study before you attend the Suspension Fitness In-Person clinic.

  • Attend the Suspension Fitness In-Peson clinic you’ve booked onto during which you’ll participate in practical tuition, perform the practical assessment, and hand in a copy of your completed portfolio.

Our Suspension Fitness course is recognised by PD Approval and CIMSPA, and meets the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status.


A basic level of English and Maths is necessary to understand the Suspension Fitness course content.

As a minimum, you must hold a level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing qualification or equivalent.

The Suspension Fitness course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. Relevant personal experience participating in suspension fitness classes is helpful.
