Our Strength and Conditioning course and TAP have been developed by industry leaders and innovators James Wild and Richard Scrivener. The’ve been designed from the ground up, providing the most in depth, up-to-date and forward-thinking Level 4 S&C training available.
James currently holds a dual role as the Technical Lead for Performance at Surrey Sports Park and Teaching Fellow at the University of Surrey.
As a consultant James is responsible for overseeing the performance support team for the England Women’s Lacrosse national squad and he leads the speed programme at Harlequins Rugby Club, implementing speed training systems and speed-relevant strength diagnostic tests.
He has also provided similar support to professional football teams and some of the fastest athletes in the UK. James is a book author and is currently undertaking a PhD investigating the biomechanics and motor control of team sport athletes during initial sprint acceleration.
Richard has a 1st Class Honors Degree in Sports Science and a Master’s Degree in High Performance Physiology. He’s a certified strength and conditioning coach and a member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association.

You will achieve the relevant Level 4 Strength and Conditioning qualification upon successful completion of both our Strength and Conditioning Coach course and TAP, the certificate for which will be issued by the awarding organisation.
Together, this Strength and Conditioning course and TAP are also recognised by PD:Approval and CIMSPA, and meet the criteria for official American College of Sports Medicine Approved Provider status◊.
You need to hold a Level 3 personal training qualification.
A basic level of English and Maths will be necessary to understand the course content.
Our Strength and Conditioning course and TAP require physical exertion, therefore an appropriate degree of physical fitness is necessary. Relevant personal experience of the subject is helpful. For example, prior participation in conducting personal training/sports coaching sessions will be helpful.
