Our antenatal and postnatal clients course has been designed to enable the learner to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence to cater for antenatal or postnatal clients unsupervised. The course includes contra-indications to exercise for ante and postnatal clients, how to manage risks in ante and postnatal exercise sessions, ad nutritional requirements for the ante and postnatal period.
We offer the course via distance study, helping you to accommodate study with your lifestyle, and once completed successfully you’ll receive a Level 3 Award in Adapting Exercise for Antenatal and Postnatal Clients. This course is endorsed by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).

You’ll need to book onto and attend a scheduled theory assessment day.
A basic level of English and Maths is necessary to understand the content.
You’ll hold either a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym-based Exercise or Exercise to Music), or a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training.
Learner Support – You’ll have access to our Learner Support team, dedicated to assisting you with study questions and queries. The team is generally available via phone, email or through the Help Desk Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm; and Saturday and Sunday 11am to 4pm GMT, excluding bank holidays and office closures.
Feedback Service – During your Adapting Exercise for Antenatal & Postnatal Clients course you’ll be assessed via portfolio. You’re able to send us a copy of your portfolio beforehand and one of our qualified assessors will arrange a time to call you to discuss feedback. You need to do this at least two weeks prior to the due date of the assessment or the submission date of the portfolio. Additional fees apply.
