Strength & Conditioning Exercise Diplomas™

Any client can be coached like an athlete. Be qualified to do it.

Qualify as a personal trainer and a strength and conditioning coach together, with regulated qualifications in both, so you can test what a client’s body is capable of and develop their speed, power and strength from there. If you’re already a personal trainer, you won’t have to do the Level 3 personal trainer qualification again.

Written by two expert S&C coaches, the strength and conditioning part of the course teaches the method elite sport uses, and it works whether your client is training for an event or simply wants a body that’s ready for whatever their life asks of it next.

What you’ll qualify with.

The trainers who get the best results with any client know strength and conditioning isn’t a style of workout, it’s a process. Find out what an activity or sport demands, assess what the body can do now, then plan training that closes the gap and builds the required and transferable physical qualities. It works for clients of every age and ability.

Our Strength & Conditioning Exercise Diplomas™ combine your Level 3 personal trainer qualification with strength and conditioning at Level 4, so you can build a client’s programme around what their goal demands. Choose the Specialist Diploma™ to qualify as a personal trainer and S&C coach, or go further with the Master Diploma™ to also work with more complex clients, including those living with low back pain, and to qualify as a Level 4 Advanced Personal Trainer.

Your personal training qualification depends on where you start: the Level 3 Diploma Practitioner in Personal Training (RQF) if you start from scratch, or the Level 3 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Personal Training (RQF) if you already hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification. Either way it lets you design programmes, train clients one-to-one and in small groups and get insured. Alongside it sits your Strength & Conditioning Exercise qualification — the Level 3 Diploma Specialist in Strength and Conditioning Exercise (RQF), or the Level 4 Diploma Master in Strength and Conditioning Exercise (RQF) if you go further. All are national qualifications listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework.

Already a qualified Personal Trainer? You go straight to the Specialist or Master qualification.

Your certificates are issued by Focus Awards, an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual, the government regulator for qualifications.

CIMSPA is the chartered professional body for UK sport and physical activity, and they’ve awarded us their highest provider rating: ‘Enhancing’. Your personal trainer qualification is also endorsed by REPs, the Register of Exercise Professionals.

Your personal trainer qualification is recognised in the US, UAE, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and across Europe. So if you ever want to train clients abroad, it goes with you.

You don’t need any previous fitness qualifications. The practical elements are hands-on. Already hold a Level 2 gym instructing qualification or a Level 3 personal training qualification? Choose that starting point and you won’t pay for what you already hold.

You’ll be assessed on the theory online and upload your portfolio. How and where you complete your practical depends on how you study — see Three ways to qualify.

TAIT™, the first AI tutor in UK fitness education, is with you around the clock for course questions, admin and anything you want to go deeper on. Ask at 11pm on a Friday and you get an answer in seconds, not on Monday.

And when you want a person, your Success Coaches are qualified personal trainers who’ve been where you are. Reach them by phone, email or our Help Desk, Monday to Friday.

You will qualify. We guarantee it.

The first and only qualification guarantee in UK fitness education.

TRAINPathway™

Your step-by-step roadmap from enrolment to qualification.

We don’t leave your progress to chance. Once you’ve enrolled, tell TAIT™, our AI tutor, how fast you want to qualify, and it builds your TRAINPathway™: a personalised, week-by-week plan to get you there.

From then on, you always know what this week should look like, right up to the day you pass. Life gets in the way? TAIT™ can rework your plan.

No guessing. No falling behind.

MentorMe™

The first and only personal trainer courses with 24/7 tutor support.

TAIT™ is the first AI tutor in UK fitness education, and it’s ours: trained on your course and available around the clock. It will take you through anything you’re learning, as many times as you like. Ask at 11pm on a Friday and you get an answer in seconds, not on Monday.

When you want a person, your Success Coaches are qualified personal trainers who’ve been where you are. They know what you’re learning and exactly how to help. Reach them by phone, email or our Help Desk, Monday to Friday.

Qualification Guarantee™

Follow the plan and you will qualify.

Follow your TRAINPathway™, stay engaged and lean on MentorMe™ whenever you need it. Do that, and our guarantee takes care of you. And if you don’t pass an assessment, you can resubmit it free, as many times as it takes.

We don’t stop until you qualify.

Six more reasons you’ll succeed.

Student Desktop™

Study wherever you are, whenever it suits you.

Your whole course in one place — lessons, assessments, progress-tracking and resources — accessible on phone, tablet or desktop, the moment you enrol.

We were the first in the UK to deliver fitness courses online, back in 2000, then launched the first study app to go with it. That’s what won us the ukactive award for Best Use of Technology.

Career-Ready Curriculum™

Built to get you qualified, confident, and client-ready.

Ours doesn’t just prepare you to pass. It prepares you to succeed as a personal trainer.

You’ll cover movement screening, functional programme design, corrective exercise and the 10-step consultation process. The things you’ll use with your first client, not just the things that come up in an assessment.

Qualified is where it starts. Client-ready is the point.

SmartStudy Toolkit™

Study less. Learn more. Qualify faster.

Reading a textbook and hoping it sticks isn’t a study method. Your course is built on proven, evidence-based learning methods designed to help you absorb, retain and recall what you learn, so it’s there when a client asks, not just when the assessment does.

Microlearning. Content broken into short, focused pieces you can finish in a single sitting. Easier to fit around work and family, easier to retain, and easier to apply with clients.

Multimedia tools and synoptic assessments. You meet ideas in more than one form, and rather than testing each topic in isolation, synoptic assessments have you pull what you’ve learned together, in writing and in practice. That’s the joined-up thinking you’ll use with a client in front of you, and it’s why the knowledge stays put.

Exemplar videos. Watch a successful assessment before you sit yours. You see exactly what a strong performance looks like, what the assessor is looking for, and how to prepare for it.

Live Learning Labs™. Optional daily classes with expert tutors, live on Microsoft Teams, Monday to Friday. Prepare for an assessment, go deeper on a topic, or get a question answered in real time. Come every day or drop in when it suits.

Video Vault™

500+ exercise videos. On demand.

A professional exercise library in your pocket from day one, so you learn every exercise the way you’ll coach it.

Practitioner Diploma™. 225 base exercises with modifications and progressions, so you can design better programmes faster.

Specialist and Master Diplomas™. Another 90 bodyweight and small-equipment exercises from the Outdoor Fitness library, for training clients outside a gym.

Every Diploma. 170+ ready-to-use 30-minute T3 HIIT workouts. Each one has a 4-minute mobilisation, four 5–6 minute HIIT routines, a 4-minute active recovery, and printable programme cards for client tracking.

All of it in the mobile app. Revise before an assessment, plan a session, or check a movement on the gym floor.

Career Concierge®

From qualified to working PT. We can help you get there.

Every Diploma includes access to Career Concierge®, a personalised service designed to help you turn your qualification into a career.

A job-ready CV or bio. We can help you build one, whether you’re applying for roles or going freelance.

Connections to employers. We guarantee you interviews at top gyms, health clubs and private studios, and match you with live roles on a job board only our graduates see.

Referrals to launch your business. Trusted specialists in insurance, web design, branding and social media, so you’re not starting from a blank page.

Price Match Promise™

Find the same course for less and we’ll match it.

Every one of our diplomas comes with the Qualification Guarantee™, 24/7 tutor support, a personalised study plan and a 500+ video exercise library, all in the price you see.

If you find the same course elsewhere for a lower price, with the same accreditation, the same features and the same support, we’ll match it.

“We’ve worked with TRAINFITNESS for years and know the standard of training they provide. We put our own staff through their Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer courses, and we also recruit trainers who have qualified with them independently. When someone comes to Gymbox having trained with TRAINFITNESS, we know they’ve had a strong grounding and are starting their career with the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed in the industry.”
Laura Martin · Head of Education
“We’ve worked closely with TRAINFITNESS for many years and have seen first-hand the quality of trainers they produce. We also send our own staff on their Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer courses. We’ve recruited newly qualified graduates with little industry experience who have gone on to build highly successful careers, coaching over 30 sessions a week. TRAINFITNESS provides an excellent foundation for a successful career in personal training, and we recommend them highly.”
Brett Durney · Founder
“The reputation of a fitness club is only as good as the staff you employ. That’s why when we have a vacancy, we contact TRAINFITNESS. Their graduates are always well-informed and enthusiastic: everything you could want from a fitness team. They turn out highly employable and well-rounded trainers and we would recommend them to anyone looking to forward themselves in fitness.”
