Stretching is a fundamental part of any workout programme and is essential for well-rounded fitness. On this course you’ll build on the knowledge you gained from your personal trainer course and other fitness qualification(s) and explore advanced stretching techniques. This includes equipment stretches, a wider range of stretching types and more specific progressions. You’ll also cover stretching strategies and matrices.

This course includes online study and one advanced stretching training day which you can either attend in-person at one of our venues or from the comfort of your own home with our Virtual Training Platform.

Is the Advanced Stretching course recognised?

Yes; by REPs. Also, the criteria for official ACSM Approved Provider status is met by this course.

What do I need to attend?

The Advanced Stretching course is delivered part time. You’ll complete as home study the online course material and once completed you’ll book onto and attend an Advanced Stretching assessment day on which you’ll participate in practical tuition, hand in your portfolio and perform your practical assessment. You can attend either in person at our London premises, or from the comfort of your own home via our virtual training platform.

What are the prerequisites?

A basic level of English and Math is necessary to understand the content.

You’ll hold either a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym-based Exercise), Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Exercise to Music), or a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training.

The Advanced Stretching course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. Personal experience of stretching can be helpful.

What support is available during the Advanced Stretching course?

Learner Support – As well as the support you receive from your tutor during the Advanced Stretching assessment day, you’ll also have access to our Learner Support team for help with study questions and queries. The team is generally available via phone, email or through the Help Desk Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm, excluding bank holidays and office closures.
