During our Children’s Fitness course you’ll learn anatomy and physiology, how to maintain health, safety and welfare in a variety of fitness environments, how to teach fitness to kids, as well as the skills and knowledge to plan and deliver safe, effective exercise and physical activity for children aged 5 to 15 inclusive.

The Exercise for Children course is supported by a Training and Assessment Pacakge (TAP). If your goal is to teach children’s fitness classes as a professional instructor, you need to successfully complete a TAP.
Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll have instant access to your course via our web-based Student Desktop and mobile app website.
You’ll complete the Children’s Fitness course as home study.
After you enrol on the Exercise for Children course, the sooner you purchase a TAP, the smaller the fee. To purchase a TAP, simply choose your preferred option.

You will achieve the relevant Focus Awards Level 2 Physical Activity for Children qualification upon successful completion of our Children’s Fitness course & associated TAp, the certificate for which will be issued by the awarding organisation.
Our Children’s Fitness course is also recognised by PD:Approval and CIMSPA, and meets the criteria for official American College of Sports Medicine Approved Provider status◊.
You need to have a basic level of English and Maths to understand the Children’s Fitness course content.
There are no prerequisite qualifications for our Children’s Fitness course; however, if you already hold a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing qualification (either Gym or Exercise to Music), you may be eligible for exemptions from certain parts of the course.
