If you’re looking to expand your horizons and increase your earning potential, becoming an assessor can be a rewarding career extension. And once you’re a qualified assessor, you can conduct assessments in those vocations for which you hold a vocational qualification.

No previous assessing experience is required to enrol and you can fit assessing in and around your current work and lifestyle commitments.

Assessor Course Study Options

The assessor course is offered by either Live-Virtual or In-Person study option.

Enroling provides you with access to the Learner Success team and the Assessor Assessment Day.

Live Virtual

Home study plus a scheduled Assessor Live Virtual assessment day that you participate in at home.

You will:

  • Complete as home study the online course material and specific sections of the portfolio.

  • Complete four hours of work experience where you observe a qualified assessor assessing the subject that you intend to assess. The assessor you observe must also hold the relevant recognised qualification in that subject. Please call us if you’d like to talk about performing your work experience hours with us.

  • Via our Help Desk, submit evidence of your completed work experience using the documents provided.

  • Complete as home study the assessments we send you and the remaining section of your portfolio. For an additional fee and as an alternative to completing the assessments as home study, you can book onto and participate in a Live Virtual assessment held on a scheduled Virtual assessment day on which you’ll perform the assessments and hand in a copy of your completed portfolio.   • Submit a copy of the completed assessments and portfolio via our Help Desk (unless you complete the Live Virtual assessment option).

In-Person

Home study plus a scheduled Assessor In-Person assessment day that you attend at one of our centres.

You will:

  • Complete as home study the online course material and specified sections of the portfolio.

  • Complete the mandatory four hours of wok experience where you observe a qualified assessor assessing the subject that you intend to assess. The assessor you observe must also hold the relevant recognised qualification in that subject. Please call us if you’d like to discuss completing your work experience with us.

  • Submit evidence via our Help Desk of your completed work experience.

  • Complete as home study the assessments we send you and your portfolio. As an alternative and for an additional fee, you can book onto and attend an In-Person assessment held on a scheduled In-Person assessment day at which you’ll perform the assessments and hand in a copy of your completed portfolio.   • Submit via our Help Desk a copy of the completed assessments and portfolio (unless you complete the In-Person assessment option).

Recognition

You’ll achieve the relevant Level 3 qualification upon successful completion of our Assessor course, the certificate for which will be issued by the awarding organisation.

Our Assessor course is also recognised by CIMSPA, and meets the criteria for official American College of Sports Medicine Approved Provider status◊.

Prerequisites

A basic level of English and Maths is necessary to understand the Assessor course content.

You are required to hold the relevant recognised qualification in the subject that you will be assessing. For example, you can only assess a Level 2 Gym Instructor assessment if you yourself hold a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.

All team members are qualified assessors with years of experience. They are well-versed in the material and can help you through it, but they also have practical experience to share with you.
